Windsor Regional Hospital is at or over capacity in both campuses
Hospital CEO David Musyj says the Met campus is at 99 per cent occupancy while Ouellette is at 106 per cent.
Another 11 patients are waiting for a bed in the emergency department at Ouellette.
Musyj says typically, the hospital does not see such an increase for another month or so.
The hospital had been approved for 28 more 'surge beds' next month.
The news comes on the same day the province announced $90-million in funding to pay for an additional 1,100 beds in Ontario.
Musyj says the LHIN will decide how to spend the funding, but he hopes the region will receive $4.5-million from the provincial government.
