A major fundraiser has had to re-schedule because of the strike of Caesars Windsor workers.
Battle of the Hors D'oeuvres was to take place May 10th, a period the casino has cancelled all booking for.
The event is a key fundraiser for Big Brothers - Big Sisters Windsor-Essex.
Organizers have now pushed the date to September 19th.
Foundation Director Hayley Morgan says they knew this could happen once the walkout began.
"We've had a backup plan just in case this was the situation, obviously this is one of our largest fundraiser of the year so our goal is to continue to have the event and to raise funds for our mentoring program so we have been preparing for this and had had a couple of dates already reserved with Caesars in case that happened"
Morgan says they've had to do a lot of outreach.
"All of the participants, anyone who's purchased a ticket already and all of our sponsors to advise them of the change. Obviously we do anticipate that due to people's schedules we might lose a couple of participants and we may have a few people that require refunds for their tickets which we're happy to provide"
She says they'll ramp up event promotion late in the summer.
"We will continue to actually promote it now but do a much larger promotion of it closer to the event and as soon as we do solidify all of our participants in the event and kind of see who's available and see if we can gather some new ones together to replace ones we may have lost, we'll make an announcement of those participants as well"
Morgan explains this is not within their control and participants and ticket holders have been understanding.
About 600 people attended the event last year with 21 restaurants and other participants.
All tickets purchased for the May event will be honoured at the one this fall.
