A Leamington man charged with threatening the prime minister will remain behind bars a while longer.
A bail hearing had been scheduled for today for 60-year-old Royce VanEvery, but the hearing was adjourned at the request of the defence.
As you heard first on AM800, VanEvery was charged with uttering threats against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
He attended the office of MPP Percy Hatfield last week and caused a disturbance. The issue he was complaining about was a federal issue, so he contacted the PM's office and via speaker phone, threatened the PM with an AK47.
With Prime Minister Trudeau's visit to Leamington on Sunday, the bail hearing was scheduled for this week.
