Mohammed Shamji faces one count of firstdegree murder in connection with his wifes death
A Toronto neurosurgeon, accused in the murder of his physician wife Dr. Elana Fric-Shamji of Tecumseh, has been denied bail.
Mohammed Shamji faces one count of first-degree murder in connection with his wife's death, whose body was found in a suitcase by the side of the road north of Toronto last December.
Investigators previously said that they believe Elana Fric-Shamji, who was strangled and beaten, was killed in the couple’s North York home that they shared with their three children.
The couple, who were married for 12 years, had three young children.
