One of the driving forces behind the Windsor Goodfellows has passed away.
General Manager Colleen Renaud died Wednesday morning after a near year-long battle with ovarian cancer.
She was 64.
Renaud was with Goodfellows for 46 years in various capacities before becoming general manager.
Acting General Manager and Renaud's daughter, Shannon Beaumont, says her mother wanted to help anybody who needed it. "The Windsor Goodfellows helps not just through food boxes at Christmas, year round food bank, shoe and boot program. They have a nutrition program at nine area schools. These are things my mother set-up and everyday poured her heart and soul into."
"I think she'd like to be remembered as someone who loved everybody she met. She was funny, sociable and just loved people," says Beaumont. "To me her legacy has been to help anybody who needed it. She didn't care what your background was, why you were there, she just said if anybody needs help, they're going to get it."

Beaumont says the school breakfast and nutrition program at nine area schools would probably be the one program her mother was most proud of. "That program feeds 1,500 children a day and to know that no child is hungry was joy for her. She always said we can't expect children to do their job of learning if they're worried about being hungry."
Funeral arrangements have not been finalized.
