Carol Derbyshire spent 32 years leading hospice

After 39 years at Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, Carol Derbyshire is retiring.

Derbyshire started her career at hospice as a patient care volunteer and worked her way up, serving 32 of her 39 years as executive director.

She says she started thinking about retirement about a year ago and adds she's confident in leaving this year because hospice is in 'good shape.'

"We have wonderful partnerships with the hospitals and agencies and I had things in my mind that when I went, I wanted to make sure were in place and they're pretty well all there," says Derbyshire.
