The commissioner of the Canadian Hockey League is impressed with how Windsor handled the Memorial Cup tournament last week.
Speaking on AM800's the Morning Drive, David Branch says Windsor checked off all the boxes when it comes to hosting the 10-day event.
He says when it came to the quality of the team, the hotels, the WFCU Centre, the atmosphere and volunteers, Windsor was top notch.
"Wow. Superb, in every instance and I can't say enough about what it meant to all of us who were visiting and for the CHL and our continued growth," says Branch.
The Spits defeated the Erie Otters 4-3 Sunday night to win the Memorial Cup.
He says despite the 44 days off after losing to the London Knights, the Spits maintained their momentum.
"I checked in a couple times with both Warren and Rocky and I marvelled at their preparation," he says.
Branch also pointed out the team also had the force of the Spitfires fans behind them.
