Young people in the core area of Windsor will have access to summer activities for a 3rd year.
Called "Youth Embracing Today's Youth," the program for "at risk" youth operates out of Water World on Wyandotte at Glengarry.
An average of 50 kids aged seven to 18 participate every day.
Pastor Paul Riley started the program when he identified a need in the community.
He says there are all kinds of opportunities for the kids.
"They get to play basketball and learn cooking, that's one of our biggest ones, we teach them how to cook. Not only teach them how to cook, we cook enough they get to take it home. So the kids love that part of it and it's just fun with everything from health and safety classes we want these kids to have as much education as possible"
Riley says the goal is to keep the youth out of difficulties with police.
"We're trying to make sure the kids have enough to do. We have a slogan here, I'd rather see you on the courts than in the courts. So if we can have something for the kids to do all the time it keeps them out of trouble"
Program Director Jordan Antonelli says they're emphasizing a different element this time.

"This summer we're hoping to amp up more of the arts side. We focus of fitness, art and cuisine. But we've had a bit of trouble getting them interested in the arts side so we're going to be focusing on that"
It provides a summer job to 10 student employees.
