Detroit Lions Head Coach Matt Patricia is working to figure out what the team will look like in a month.
From the team's camp in Allen Park, Patricia says decisions will have to be made soon and he's observing all the players.
Patricia says they need to get to their 53 man roster Saturday.
"This is definitely something that is a process, and we're going through that process right now," says Patricia. "We're trying to evaluate the team and put a good team together and hopefully whatever the team looks like now on the pre-season it'll look better in September"
He says the defence is on a learning curve with a new scheme.
"I think these guys are doing a good job, I really do. I think there's some concepts they're grasping that are really good. I would say that maybe we haven't tried to apply them in certain situations yet. That'll be the next phase as we move forward . But just trying to get that foundation laid as far as the understanding of what we want to do"
The Lions are gearing up to host the Cleveland Browns Thursday for the next preseason game.
