Construction is moving along at the Budimir Library branch in south Windsor despite the discovery of some asbestos.
Windsor Public Library's Manager of Public Services Adam Craig says construction crews have done all the necessary steps to resolve the issue.
He says in any construction project, there are some set backs but the project is still on time and budget.
"I have to give the project team credit," says Craig. "They rolled with the punches and despite the asbestos and we've done all the necessary steps to have that dealt with obviously and they were able to keep us on track."

He says a good amount of work has already been done.
"A lot of the insulating has been done I'm told, masonry is done, the roof is going to be the piece that comes next," says Craig. "Right now we've lost a tiny bit of space, a tiny bit of public space inside of the library. Obviously that's temporary well construction is underway."
The expansion includes a 6000 square foot addition to the existing building on Grand Marais Rd W. near Dominion Blvd.
The budget is set at roughly $2.1-million.
The existing branch is just under 6300 square feet.
Construction is expected to wrap up in early spring 2020.
