Windsor police have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in the murder of a 73-year-old man on Bloomfield Rd. in February.
Officers were called in the early morning to the house near Brock St. and found Leonard Damm, who had suffered life threatening injuries.
Windsor police have identified the suspect as 19-year-old Yousuf Ali who is described as being a black male with a slim build, approximately 125 lbs and about 6'3" in height.
Windsor Police Sgt. Betteridge says police believe Ali is no longer in Canada.
"Investigators have a warrant issued for first-degree murder," he says. "He has not been arrested and investigators believe he has fled the country"
Although police believe he may have fled the country, he may return to the city.
"If somebody were to see him, our direction is not to approach him but to contact 9-1-1 right away," says Betteridge.
Sgt. Betteridge says Windsor police have reached out to agencies who can attempt to find Ali outside Canada.
An autopsy has been done on Damm's body, but the cause of death has not been released.
Last week, investigators executed a search warrant at a home just a block away from the scene of the homicide and recovered some items.
