Despite the rash of accidents in construction zones in Chatham-Kent, drivers continue to speed.
The OPP were conducting RADAR enforcement on Friday in the construction zone on Hwy. 401 near Charing Cross Rd. Police report around 12:15pm, an eastbound vehicle was going over the posted speed limit.
Police say RADAR registered a speed of 125 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
The driver was stopped and charged with speeding in a construction zone with workers present.
The total fine is more than $700.
OPP are reminding drivers fines are doubled in construction zones and speeding is one of the "big four" driving behaviours officers look for: impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving, and seatbelt usage.
