Windsor Assembly Plant will halt production the week of July 12.

According to a tweet from Unifor Local 444, members were notified Friday of the shut down.

In a statement to AM00 News, the company says "Stellantis continues to work closely with our suppliers to mitigate the manufacturing impacts caused by the various supply chain issues facing our industry. Due to the unprecedented global microchip shortage, production at the Windsor (Ont.) Assembly Plant will be down the week of July 12"

Work had just resumed at the plant on July 5 after being idle since March 29 due to a global shortage of microchips.
