A major donation will help five local families.
A Windsor resident who wishes to remain anonymous has donated a $100,000 piece of property in Ford City to Habitat for Humanity.
Executive Director Fiona Coughlin tells CTV Windsor it is a gift from heaven.
"It was such a blessing and the gentleman who is giving it really is a kind man," says Coughlin.
Coughlin says the first home will be built on St Luke Rd. at Seminole and will be accessible for a family that has a child with a disability.
Meanwhile, Kim Davis of Drouillard Place Food Bank says adding more families to the area will be beneficial.
"Accessing the schools and the churches and parks and doing their shopping on Drouillard Rd. and attending all of the events," says Davis.
A ground breaking ceremony is expected to be held in September as part of the "Dropped on Drouillard" event that will shut down the 1000 block of Drouillard Rd.
