The 5th Annual Recovery Day in Windsor is being hailed a success by organizers.
Turnout at Lanspeary Park was good, according to Brandon Bailey, President of WE Recovery and Chair of Recovery Day.
House of Sophrosyne, Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare, Celebrate Recovery and Brentwood Recovery Home were among the agencies in attendance, offering information.
Bailey says the event is a good way to raise awareness of recovery.
"It's really important to have this so that we can tell the whole world how much recovery works, but if you don't have proof then people tend to not believe it," he says.
According to Baily, the event shows people in recovery can be anyone.
"It's just a way of showing that it's just your everyday people, your doctors, your lawyers, your neighbours, the girl that works at the corner store or the mailman it could be anybody that suffers from addiction and just because somebody suffers from addiction doesn;t mean that they can't find recovery and sobriety."
The event attracted around 300 people to the park.
