It's always a good time having Fun with Friends, but it's even more fun with presents.
That's according to organizer Brian Fram who says he and his group have been getting together at Rose Bowl Lanes every Wednesday for the past six years.
Every year they have a Christmas party, but this year' party got a boost from local businesses that brought Santa to bowl a few frames, and give out presents.
Frank Soreci always makes it out with his wife Linda and his son Lenny and says looking around at all the smiling faces reminds him what a small gesture of kindness can do.
"It's important that there are companies that take the time to support kids that are in need," he says. "It may seem like a little gesture, but to them it's the world."
Fram tells AM800 News it's a lot of work, but it's always worth it.
"I look forward to this every week, and I know how much these athletes look forward to coming. I mean, you see the hugging and everything," says Fram.
Fram says some key people went above and beyond to make this year's event special.
"Jim Lucier of Lucier Safety Products and Hogans Printing, they got together and they supply us with shirts every year, they let up have a car wash at their place to help raise money during the summer," he says."It grew a lot more than I expected, but it's a lot of fun."
Motor City Chrysler and Premier Chevrolet supplied presents for Santa to hand out to those in attendance.
