Saskatchewan MP Andrew Scheer has won the federal Conservative leadership race.
The 38-year-old MP took the race over Maxime Bernier by 51% on the 13th ballot.
Scheer told the crowd in Toronto that the party must unite as Conservatives to defeat Justin Trudeau in 2019.
He served as Speaker of the House of Commons from 2011 to 2015 and is now the leader of the official opposition party in Ottawa.
