Amherstburg's newest festival is returning for another year.
Town council on Tuesday voted unanimously in favour of bringing back the "Amherstburg Uncommon" festival.
"They are very happy with the results of the event," says Mayor Aldo DiCarlo
Back on August 3-5, about 35,000 people including some residents from Michigan, attended the festival with a wizardry and steampunk theme.
Downtown streets in Amherstburg were transformed into the 18th-19th Victorian century.
DiCarlo attended the festival and became a fan.
"I walked around in costume, got a lot of positive feedback and almost everybody I spoke to said they had such a great time that they were hoping we would do it again next year."
He says the finances for the festival will go to budget deliberations, but festival organizers wanted the approval from council early so they can apply for grant funding from the government.
The budget for this year's festival was $60,000 but a provincial grant and sponsors offset the cost.
