It has received up to 100,000 from Parks Canada
A major funding boost for Amherstburg's historic Belle Vue House on Dalhousie St.
It has received up to $100,000 from Parks Canada's National Cost-Sharing Program for Heritage Places for the home's roof restoration which is currently underway.
Robertson Roofing has been awarded the tender for the home which dates back to 1816 and the roof is made of copper and cedar shingles.
The repairs to the roof are estimated at about $283,400.
The rest of the funds have been raised by the Belle Vue Conservancy.
In September 2016, Amherstburg purchased the Belle Vue House which was listed as one of the top 10 endangered properties in Canada.
