A mayoral candidate in Amherstburg is no longer eligible to run.
Frank Cerasa has confirmed to AM800 news that, as of Monday, August 24, his campaign is suspended.
Cerasa says he’s been informed by the town that his list of endorsements does not meet the requirements.
Candidates need 25 endorsements, but Cerasa says he was told his list only has 24.
He’s disputing that claim and is now looking at legal options.
Cerasa filed his nomination papers on May 4 and is still listed on the town’s website as a candidate.
The list on the town’s website is an uncertified candidates list. The certified list has not been posted.
Michael Prue, Chris Gibb, and Bill Fryer are also seeking the mayor’s seat.
