The Amherstburg Admirals are looking to put the Mooretown Flags away in Provincial Junior Hockey League playoff action Saturday.
Mooretown crept back into the series and escaped elimination with a 4-2 win Thursday night — the Admirals lead the series 3-2.
Head Coach Paul Bortignon tells AM800 News he hopes they don't miss another opportunity to finish off Mooretown.
"Coming in we knew it was going to be a six or seven game series, being separated by a point in the regular season," he say. "For our guys, we're still excited we're up 3-2, we're still excited that with one more win you get a chance to take on the league's best so I know that's a challenge that our guys are hoping we get to take on."
Bortignon says the Admirals need to jump out early.
"Getting off to a quick start, we struggled to do that in the series, I think for us it's just simplifying our game and getting pucks in deep and using our teams speed," says Bortignon.
He expects a healthy Amherstburg team will hit the ice Saturday.
"I think we're close to a full line-up, I mean everything is going to start and end with our goaltender Ben Larder, he's been fantastic all year and throughout the playoffs," he says. "He's up for the challenge, so I know the rest of the boys will follow suit."
The puck drops at 7:30pm in Mooretown.
