The Town of Amherstburg is out with its 2017 draft budget.
Administration is recommending a 1.99% tax increase amounting to roughly $45 on an average home valued at $191,000.
CAO, John Miceli, says debt reduction will continue as well with a goal of bringing the town's debt down to $39-million by the end of 2017.
Miceli says the budget includes a fair amount of road work as well.
"We have the reconstruction of Meloche Road, but not only that, we've got a significant amount invested in our roads. So those expenditures, we're going to be up $1.2-million, I believe, in roads and about $400,000 in bridges and culverts. So from a capital perspective, we're going to have about an $8-million program."
He says there's a couple of exciting projects included as well.
"We're addressing a number of the operational issues the community wanted to see. For example, we're acquiring the Bellevue House, we're acquiring Duffy's Marina. So I'm happy to say that I think we're on the right path of delivering the services our community wants."
A public open house on the budget is planned for November 26 at 1pm at the Libro Centre.
Budget deliberations begin November 29 with a goal of having the final budget passed by December 12.
