A disruption to library services in Amherstburg.
Starting yesterday, the branch will be closed for five weeks.
The basement of the library had previously been closed since the summer because of issues with the foundation that were causing water penetration and mold.
Essex County Library Chief Librarian, Robin Greenall says the decision has now been made to close the entire branch.
"They had to do some water shut-offs, I think they need to do some repair and mediation to the front stairwells so that would impact our residents being able to access the building and us to be able to provide full services," says Greenall.

Amherstburg CAO, John Miceli says there were no health risks.
"We had all the air tested and we've actually sealed off the area in the lower level of the library," says Miceli. "We have cautiously monitored the air quality there so there is no issues with regards to that."
In the interim, a pop-up library has been set up on the second floor of the the Libro Centre in Amherstburg. There is also a mail delivery service being offered for patrons who may not be able to get out to the pop-up location.
