The Ministry of Labour has issued six orders following an industrial accident last week in Amherstburg.
It stems from an incident on November 1, when a worker was operating an excavator on a bridge on Front Rd. North when the guard rail gave way.
The excavator fell and was submerged under water. Once the worker was freed, they were taken to hospital.
The orders were issued on November 3rd to the constructor Front Construction Industries. They included an order relating to the portion of the guardrail that was missing, an order issued for information and instruction regarding the movement of concrete wall barrier slabs on the project and an order issued to ensure equipment be stored and moved in a manner that does not endanger a worker.
A stop work order was also issued.
Another order related to a plan for the recovery of equipment submerged in the water.
