The curtain rises on Amherstburg Council starting in January 2020.
Council has agreed to spend a little over $20,000 to live stream council meetings on the internet.
The idea was proposed by Councillor Patricia Simone and supported by council.
"We've asked that it be pre-approved for the 2020 budget, so that has already been set aside. So that way we can hit the ground running and make sure that come January 1st, 2020 it will be something that will be already in place."
Simone says constituents told her it wasn't often easy to get to the actual meetings.
"They have busy schedules and they just felt that they couldn't make it to council meetings at 6pm on a Monday, so they were just hoping to have the ability to go in and check out what did happen at council."
She says a big part of the funding is for equipment.
"Obviously we're going to need some cameras and back of house equipment to get that all up on the website and that people can stream."
Simone says being able to watch the meetings online will allow residents to be better informed when asking a councillor about why they voted a particular way on an issue.
