Amherstburg Council is set to announce where a new secondary public school will be located.
The final deliberations will take place behind closed doors tonight, with an announcement being made public afterwards.
Amherstburg Mayor Aldo DiCarlo says, the in-camera talks are because of legal reasons, and confidentiality.
The Greater Essex County District School Board will use town land for the new location, so the final decision rests with the Council.
DiCarlo tells AM800 News the school board is basing its decisions on what's best for the students, and not necessarily the town itself.
"I think most people realize that the couple obvious places were the Libro Centre, our new arena, or Centennial Park, which was where our old arena was," says DiCarlo. "I believe, tonight, after the meeting we should be able to divulge this information."
The final school location will replace the existing General Amherst and Western High Schools.
