A mandatory mask bylaw could be on the way in Amherstburg to help prevent a resurgence of the COVID-19 virus.
Council will consider the bylaw to add public places not named under the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit's order.
Individuals must wear a face covering before entering and while inside a public place or while riding in a taxi licenced by the town under the bylaw or face a fine.
According to the report, fines will be determined by the regional senior justice if the bylaw is approved.
A mandatory mask order was issued by the health unit under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act back in June.
Amherstburg would join Leamington, Tecumseh and Windsor, which already have mandatory mask bylaws in place.
Lakeshore announced it plans to bring forward a mask bylaw at its next regular meeting.
Amherstburg Council begins its livestream Monday at 5 p.m.
