It has raised 100,000

A campaign to help out the Alzheimer Society of Windsor-Essex has reached its goal.

It had hoped to raise $50,000 from the community and Ground Effects Ltd CEO Jim Scott offered to match all donations up to $50,000.

With a recent donation from the Tayfour Foundation, the campaign met its target and a total of $100,000 was collected in the Caregiver Matching Gift Campaign.

The money stays in Windsor-Essex to help with the alzheimer society's day program and expanding the program.

There are 7,400 people in Windsor-Essex with dementia and the numbers continue to rise 4%-5% per year.
