Meghan Agosta is happy to be home.
It's been two and a half years since the Canadian hockey star has been in Windsor-Essex after getting hired by the Vancouver Police department.
The women are holding a number of practices and scrimmages at the Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex including a couple of exhibition games against the Lakeshore Canadiens.
Agosta tells CTV Windsor 'the support that I've had ever since I was a little girl has been amazing. It's not just the support from my family and my friends, but it's my community as well and to see everybody out here, the smiles on the kids faces, people that I haven't seen in years, it's great. And the girls are pretty impressed with it."
Agosta adds "when I was growing up I had a lot of childhood heroes and a lot of people look up to me now. So to be able to be back and to be in the rink here in Leamington it's amazing."
The women's team plays Lakeshore tomorrow night at 7:30pm.
Admission is free.
