The Amherstburg Admirals are on the road Wednesday night looking to make up some ground in the Provincial Junior Hockey League standings.
The Admirals sit in fourth in the West Stobbs Division — they're in Wallaceburg hoping to make it three wins in a row.
Head coach Paul Bortignon says they can jump in the standings with a win over the last place Lakers.
"With two teams that fall into that four/five match up, that's almost like the 'group of death' as they call it in soccer. So for us, to get the win tonight and move into the third spot, it'll give us a lot of confidence as the holiday break draws near."
He says his team will be looking to keep it clean against the Lakers.
"If they work hard and stick to their game plan, they're a team that can get you into some penalty trouble if you come in with the wrong mind set. But I think our guys are well prepared. We had a good night of practice Tuesday and I think they'll be ready to go Wednesday night for sure."
Bortignon says they've got a simple game plan.
"For us it's just keep it to the basics. I know sometimes we get into a game like this on the road, sometimes you try and do a little too much against a team that's below you in the standings, but for us I think it's just keeping the game simple, sticking to our game plan, utilizing our speed and our skill and I think the rest will take care of itself."
Game time in Wallaceburg is set for 7:30pm.
