There will be more freight trains being re-routed through Windsor-Essex this week.
The Town of Tecumseh says CN Rail has advised them that due to the derailment in the Sarnia-Port Huron Tunnel, an additional six freight trains are being re-routed through Windsor per day.
On Friday, a CN freight train derailed inside an international tunnel linking Sarnia and Port Huron.
The derailment caused sulphuric acid leak.
CN says the leak was contained and does not pose any dangers to the public or St. Clair River.
The cause of the derailment remains under investigation.
The additional freight trains travelling through Windsor-Essex should end by July 6.
