Kids in the Riverside area have a new easily accessible playground to climb and play.
The Farrow Riverside Miracle Park opened in Windsor Tuesday afternoon and dozens of children were seen on the equipment which includes 30 specially designed elements from swings to a glider.
Park Committee Co-Chair Bill Kell says work continues on the miracle baseball diamond, walking trails and veterans memorial, which should be open this fall.
"The accessible playground is now completely open and we have fenced it off for the construction for the miracle park itself," says Kell.
Kell tells AM800 News the kids were eager to play.
"We noticed that all the kids were looking over the fence all the time at the playground so we decided to open it up and let them use it."
Kell ads money is still being raised.
"We are close to our goal," says Kell. "We still have a couple hundred thousand dollars to go, we are still working on that and hope to have completion around the first week of October."
The committee is still a couple thousand dollars short of its $3-million goal.
The park, off Wyandotte St. East, is designed to allow children with disabilities to take part in baseball programs.
