Failing to deploy his headlights might have been a bad call for an alleged thief.
The Windsor Police Services Property Theft Unit noticed a vehicle that hadn't deployed its headlights around 11 p.m. near Cadillac and Alice Streets Thursday night.
Upon closure inspection, police were able to confirm the licence plates on the vehicle had been reported stolen.
According to police, they were able to stop the driver after a brief chase that came to a close at 200 Belleview Avenue when the suspect vehicle crashed into the police cruiser.
The car sustained minor damage and no one was hurt, according to police.
Following a brief foot pursuit, police say the driver was arrested without further incident.
A 33-year-old man from Windsor is charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 and two counts of breaching previously imposed conditions.
