A traditional chinese medicine practitioner from Windsor has received a suspended sentence and two years probation after pleading guilty to assault.
In June 2014, 79-year-old Chak Cheung was charged with sexual assault but he pleaded Tuesday morning in court to assault.
Windsor police received a complaint from a 51-year-old woman who claimed she was the victim of the assault that took place at Cheung's Trading on Wyandotte St West while she was being treated.
As part of the sentence, he is not to associate with the victim and is not permitted to practice anymore.
Justice Steven Rogin told Cheung in court that he brought shame to his practice, himself, his family and the community.
A jury selection was under way for the upcoming trial when Cheung decided to plead guilty.
