Some advice if you're among those who drove your vehicle through deep water last week.
At Evoy's garage on Seminole St., Don Ing says "get your engine checked. Even if you didn't stall out, damage could have been done."
"You'll see water droplets on your oil dipstick or the oil level will be higher than normal, you'll know water has gone into the engine compartment and the engine itself." says Ing. "If that's the case you'd have to drain out the oil, change the filter, and the next step would be to remove the spark plugs and crank the engine over in case the water has gone in the combustion chamber."
And, if your vehicle has been sitting in deep water, he recommends against trying to start it.
Have it towed to a service centre to be checked out.
