It's going to be a night reliving history in McGregor.
On Thursday, the Essex Municipal Heritage Committee and Marsh Collection Society will host an event being billed as "McGregor News" which will look at McGregor's first 25 years.
It's a free event being held at the McGregor Community Centre where retired librarian Nancy Brown will discuss the origins of the village along with its past industry like a once thriving sawmill.
Essex Deputy Mayor Richard Meloche grew up in McGregor and feels its important to keep history alive.
"At one point in time, and there's probably not a lot of people that realize this, but [former Prime Minister] Wilfrid Laurier at one time made a stop and did a speech in McGregor. You know, it's just those kinds of interesting points that you're going to hear stories about," says Meloche.
The dip into history begins at 6pm while a tour of St. Clement's church is being held at 5pm.
