Ontario Provincial Police are reminding motorists to slow down.
Sgt. Dave Rektor says area highways including Highway 401 and Highway 402 in Southwestern Ontario are slick and slippery.
He says some vehicles and transports are going in ditches as well as the centre median.
"Visibility is reduced, the winds are picking up and the snow is falling a little heavier so we have to do our part folks to keep the roads safe," says Rektor. "So we're doing that but we can't do that alone. We need people to slow down on the highways that's the bottom line."
He says it all boils down to common sense.
"There's no magic to winter driving," says Rektor. "It's not that common apparently but none the less let's slow down out here. Let's keep the foot off the gas and drive carefully."
Rektor says in these snowy conditions, it's okay to drive below the posted speed limit.
