For the second time in less than a year, a local philanthropist is donating to Ste. Anne Church in Tecumseh.
The Diocese of London has announced, Alan Quesnel donated $1.25 million to the church this week for its restoration project.
Last November, Quesnel donated $1.25 million to the church after an anonymous donor's pledge fell through.
Diocese of London Communications Officer Nelson Couto says some restoration work has already started.
"There was some structural concerns also the chapel is being worked on and now the 2.5 million dollar gift, we have sort of a green light to start making, start having real talks about restoring and re-installing the steeple of the church which was removed about 10 years ago because of structural problems," says Couto.
The church's fundraising goal is $3.8 million.
With Quesnel's $2.5 million donation along with a half a million raised by parishioners, the campaign is now at $3 million.
Father Eugene Roy will talk about the donation this weekend during mass.
