A Go Fund Me page has been set up to help a rock band from Oshawa after some of the band's equipment was stolen following a show in Windsor earlier this month.
The Standstills had four guitars and accessories stolen from their van on August 18th.
The van was parked at the Howard Johnson Hotel on Ouellette and Eugenie.
Morning Show Host Mark McKenzie says the band was in town for a free 89X show at Walkerville Brewery.
"The station decided we wanted to help them out," says McKenzie. "Obviously they don't have a ton of money, they're an up and coming band so we put together this Go Fund Me page and we kind of thought as an incentive to try and get people to donate, for every $10 increment that they donate they'll get one ballot so they can win a prize."
McKenzie says he's pleased with the response.
"We've had one donor whose donated over $1500 just himself and then we had a lot of people donating $50, $100 even just $10 or 20 bucks here and there but we've already raised $2500," says McKenzie.
The band says the stolen equipment is worth $10,000.
Some items include three Hagstrom guitars and a Gibson guitar.
