William Stadder's second goal of the game, 90 seconds into overtime, lifted the Essex 73's to a 4-3 win over Mooretown in Provincial Junior Hockey League action Tuesday night.
The Flags scored twice in the third period to force the extra time.
Eric Shaw and Michael Vieira also scored for the 73's, who outshot Mooretown 43-28.
Jax Dhont made 25 saves to pick up the win.
Essex now leads Lakeshore by four points for first-place in the Stobbs Division, but the Canadiens have four games in hand.
