Two people have been arrested after police interrupted their drug deal.
Members of the Windsor Police Service City Centre Patrol (CCP) arrested two people and seized drugs and cash after witnessing hand-to-hand transactions in the downtown core.
Shortly after 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 10, officers patrolling in the 800 block of Ouellette Avenue observed several people approach a parked vehicle, briefly interact with two people inside, and then leave.
Officers believed these interactions were consistent with street-level drug trafficking.
One of the suspects later exited the car, approached several other people, where additional suspected exchanges were seen.
Police quickly moved in and arrested both suspects at the scene without incident.
During a search of the individuals and the vehicle, police seized over 460 suspected hydromorphone pills, nearly 80 suspected narcotic pills, over nine grams of packaged cannabis, $7,400 in Canadian cash, and two cellphones.
A 57-year-old man, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have each been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
