St. Clair College is celebrating its golden anniversary.
2017 marks the school's 50th anniversary.
It opened in September, 1967 along with 22 other colleges across the province to offer post secondary education.
President Emeritus of the Retirees Association Bill Totten worked as a Registrar for 25 years and saw parts of the south Windsor campus being built.
"We stood here and we watched this building, the main floor, and as the building went up and a new wing went in, you were part of something really exciting," says Totten.
When the doors first opened, the college had more than 300 students who were enrolled in business and technology programs.
Currently the college has close to 9000 students and 95,000 alumni.
An anniversary celebration is planned in Windsor May 19th to 21st and in Chatham September 30th to October 1st.
