Nearly half-a-million dollars’ worth of park improvements are now complete in Windsor’s South Walkerville neighbourhood.
The city spent $475,000 on improvements to Optimist Memorial Park at 1075 Ypres Avenue.
It includes a new accessible large-sized, forest-themed playground with rubber safety surfacing, a new perimeter concrete sidewalk, new benches and site furnishings, and drainage improvements.
The Optimist Memorial Park project is part of the City of Windsor’s much larger Playground Replacement Program, with $16.3 million in investments to replace 35 neighbourhood playgrounds across the community.
