For the ninth straight year students from Misono High School are visiting Windsor.
The school is located in Fujisawa, Japan, which is Windsor's twin city.
Scott Johnson is originally from Illinois and now teaches English at the high school.
He says the students live with Windsor-Essex families and it's a wonderful experience for them.
"They don't only learn about the culture but they become one of the family." says Johnson
He says the trip is a learning experience for the students who go to school and learn various things there and in various outings.
Johnson says the trip is part of an exchange program. The 36 female students visited city hall today and met with Mayor Drew Dilkens.
The students will be in the region for two weeks and will visit Jackson Park, Willistead Manor and Point Pelee National Park..
They'll also head to Toronto and Niagara Falls for day trips.
