A 27-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving after a vehicle crashed into a house.
Shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, Windsor police officers responded to a report of a collision involving a car and a home in the 1600 block of Armanda Street.
When officers arrived on scene, they located the vehicle on the front lawn of the house, with its front bumper against the front steps.
The driver remained inside the car and officers observed several signs of impairment including glossy, red eyes, slurred speech, unsteadiness on his feet, and difficulty staying awake.
The driver was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he provided a breath test that registered more than twice the legal blood alcohol limit.
No injuries were reported. The home sustained more than $10,000 in damage.
As a result, the man has been charged with impaired driving and operation with a blood alcohol concentration at or over 80 mg%.
