About 25 comments were received during a 30-day public review period on the Transportation Environment Study Report to widen Highway 3 to four lanes.
The deadline was December 12th.
The review period was necessary to get comments on some technical ammendments to the Environment Assessment.
Ministry of Transportation Spokesperson Susan Wagter says the responses ranged from overall support to widen the highway from the town of Essex to Leamington.
There were also concerns expressed over the potential impacts on the grade separation of Highway 3 at Victoria.
Some of the recommendations in the report include a southerly shift of Highway 3 away from the built-up area of Essex, an overpass grade separation at Victoria Ave with no direct access to the highway.
Wagter says the Ministry of Transportation will review all of the comments. She says "once the project receives environmental clearance, the project can be priortized and considered for funding."
