A 22-year-old man wanted for breaching his court-ordered conditions has been arrested after trying to flee from officers.
In April 2026, the man was granted bail on numerous criminal charges, including firearm offences, uttering threats, and four counts of possessing a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
Two weeks earlier, he had been placed on probation in connection with a separate criminal harassment charge.
As part of his release, he was required to wear an electronic monitoring device. Windsor Police bail compliance officers later determined that he had breached his probation conditions by fleeing from a traffic stop and driving dangerously.
On August 7, bail compliance officers and the OPP-led Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad, located the man in a parking lot in the 3300 block of Howard Avenue.
When officers approached his vehicle, he attempted to flee by driving onto the sidewalk. Officers quickly blocked the car with their cruisers to protect people in the area and prevent him from escaping. Officers removed him from the vehicle and arrested him following a brief struggle.
A search of the vehicle found approximately eight grams of suspected fentanyl, 24 Dilaudid tablets and over $500 in Canadian and U.S. cash.
He has now been charged with two counts of dangerous driving, two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, failure to comply with a release order and breach of probation.
