The new 2021 Chrysler Pacifica has been unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show.
The Windsor built minivan includes new standard safety features and an all-weather all-wheel-drive system, so if the tires lose traction on ice or snow, the AWD system automatically activates.
According to Director of the Chrysler brand at FCA, Matt Davis, the new safety system transfers the engine torque to the rear wheels, or whichever wheels have more traction.
He says there are several noticeable changes to the new model.
"Exterior updates to the front fascia and grill, and then we made LED headlamps standard and added LED front fog lamps," says Davis, adding "We are going to introduce all-wheel drive for the first time since 2004."
He says the 2021 Pacifica will have four trim levels, "We'll have a Touring, a Touring-L, Limited, and the new Pinnacle," says Davis. "We're going to introduce two new consoles this year to the front of the vehicle and the Pinnacle will get the ultra-console and then that's just the functional stuff, the appearance is over the top, it's so beautiful."
He says another bonus is the amount of standard safety equipment that has been added.
"We actually have 97 standard safety features that we're making on every single Pacifica and our thing is that there are so many families and people that are driving this back and forth and they want that extra security," he says. "All these features that are all in the industry, we're going to put standard on every single Pacifica."
The vehicle features new LED lighting and a new 10.1" touchscreen. It also has the ability to connect two phones with Bluetooth technology.
