Summer Fest has come to an end.
The 18-day event wrapped up over the Canada Day long weekend.
It was put on by the Windsor Parade Corporation and held along the city's riverfront.
Executive Director Maggie Durocher says the event was a success from start to finish.
"We started with record ticket sales ... we sold a lot more tickets even before we opened the doors then we have ever sold before, like a 45 percent increase sold so that was huge," she says.
She says the festival wrapped up with a new event called "Canada 150 - Sound & Light" at the Capitol Theatre.
"When people saw this event and when it concluded, we had standing ovations every night, people just thanking us constantly for the production," says Durocher. "Some of them came back more then once to see it and I know from the musicians stand point, they felt the same thing."
Mother nature was on the festival's side this year, according to Durocher.
"We didn't have any of those traditional Windsor fry an egg on the pavement type days. It was just warm enough, the sun was out," Durocher says. "Parade day once again it started off, I thought we were going to get poured on and it was like 11 o'clock and the clouds parted and off we went down Wyandotte Street.
The event featured rides and games, live entertainment and the tug boat races.
Other highlights included the Ford Fireworks and the Canada Day parade.
It was the 14th year for Summer Fest.
