The Windsor-Essex County Humane Society is partnering with 15 veterinary clinics for a Vaccine Drive.
Cases of parvovirus in dogs and panleukopenia in cats are common in this area and can easily be prevented with a vaccine.
This is the fifth year for the vaccine drive.
The vaccines normally can cost about $100 but during this promotion, the cost is reduced by half.
"Getting animals vaccinated is really critical because there are some illnesses in our community that are preventable with a vaccine and unfortunately a lot of animals aren't vaccinated because of the cost," says Humane Society Executive Director Melanie Coulter.
The Vaccine Drive takes place for the entire month of February.
